Almost Inspirational Thought for Today

Make today a day that you focus on other people's needs.  Start by making a big sign that says, "Today is Other People's Needs Day".  Make sure you do a good job on the sign because they deserve the best.  Don't let anyone bother you while you are working on the sign.  Keep your focus and keep your perspective on that sign.  If someone tries to talk to you or ask you for a favor, don't let them interrupt.  Tell them you are working on a very important sign for a very important day.  You'll have a really good feeling at the end of the day because you made such a nice sign with such a nice message.

When I'm down, one thing that really gives me a lift is dreaming that I have lots of friends and lots of money.  But then some of those friends start to want loans because they are going through tough times and they have nothing to eat and no place to stay.  That makes me even more depressed because I don't really have the money -- I was just dreaming and the money wasn't real.  I hope my friends understand.

If you are standing in a line today, allow the person standing behind you to "cut" in front of you.  That will make that person feel really special.  Then to make it even more special, tell that person that you feel safe and secure with them leading the way for the line.  After you are out of the line, continue to follow that person.  Follow them home or wherever they go next.  I think this will show that you really have confidence in their leadership.

Lend someone a helping hand today.  An act of true selflessness is such and honest and pure gift from one person to another.  What a great encouragement that helping hand can be to another person.  And it can really help when that person finds out that it was you who dented their car.

The "American Dream" has always been a nice house with a two car garage.  I'm tired of such a materialistic "American Dream"!  That "Dream" seems out of reach for the next generation.  I think it is high time that we change that "Dream" to something that can really give the next generation some hope for the future... How about the "Dream" that those folks who own the nice house with the two car garage will leave one of the cars out in the driveway and allow us to live in those garages.

My Grandfather once told me that a life of wealth beyond your wildest dreams can be yours if you will just follow four simple "steps".  I'm sure these "steps" can work as well for you as they have for me.  The first "step" is to climb up the oak tree in Grandpa’s back yard.  I can't really remember "steps" two and three.

"Step" four is to repeat "steps" two and three until the big bag of money falls to the ground.  I never really understood that last "step"... It was probably just the ramblings of an old and tired ex-drug lord.

Q: Who writes the "Almost Inspirational Thoughts"?

A: I do!  Bobby Sweezy.  I personally pen every word.  I do not forward jokes or any other internet refuse to our list (not that there is anything wrong with that).

Q: Where does Bobby get his inspiration?

A: Good question.  Bobby gets his inspiration by going to a "place" he likes to call "Bobville".  Bobville is a magical and mysterious place where everyday is "opposite day" and they still show cartoons on Saturday morning (not that there is anything wrong with Saved By The Bell or the City Guys).  Bobby will allow visitors a tour for a nominal fee.

Q: Can I use the "Inspirational Thoughts" for a class project?

A: Yes!  But, it's probably good for about a D minus.  After all, we are writing for you...  "the people".  We are not writing for "the Man" or his narrow boundaries of institutionalized education (not that there is anything wrong with "the Man" or institutionalized education).
